the mechanism gap nobody has been naming
there is a woman i keep meeting, in my practice and in myself, and you are going to recognize her.
she has done years of therapy for it. she can name the pattern in three vocabularies. she can tell you which parent's face is behind it, roughly what age it started, and if you push her she can give you a plausible ancestral version. and in the next conversation she freezes again.
if you have done the work, you have met her. if you are being honest, you have been her.
the story we usually tell about her situation, and i ran a version of it for years before i could no longer make it fit what i was watching, is that she has not gone deep enough. one more insight and the pattern will move.
what i was watching in room after room was almost the opposite. the people who could name their patterns most fluently did not have less of them. some had more.
insight is not the wrong thing. it is a real tool that does a real job, which is telling you what is happening. it is not the tool that changes what is happening. those are two different instruments and nobody told us they were different, and we spent a decade or two using the first one and wondering why the second job was not getting done.
the knowing body method is what actually gets the second job done.
what the library is
seven small, deep, evergreen products. one method. every product is a working kit.
the neurology of the body ($37) | the mechanism door. predictive processing, memory reconsolidation. friston, clark, barrett, ecker translated into what actually happens in a body during a stuck pattern.
the somatics of the body ($37) | the body-first door. polyvagal theory, felt sense, embodiment as practice not metaphor. porges and levine and the actual mechanics of a nervous system that co-regulates.
the philosophy of the body ($37) | the depth-thought door. jung, neville, phenomenology, the imaginal. and the two thousand year historical inheritance most of us are still living inside without knowing it.
the consciousness of the body ($37) | the awareness door. what consciousness studies has to say about the felt sense, the observer, and the difference between attention and awareness. the mystical traditions and the scientific ones held together.
the psychology of the body ($37) | the parts and defenses door. attachment structures, protective identities, shadow, parts work. why the pattern formed and why it kept you safe once.
the practice of the body ($47) | the master practice curriculum. fifteen to twenty somatic practices with mechanism explanations, calibrated for three nervous system profiles, with companion audio for each.
the integration of the body ($47) | the master synthesis. the knowing body method itself, in one product, with the five-step method and the thirty-day master track for putting the whole thing into a body.
what every product includes

- an integration section | what the frame looks like on a tuesday afternoon
- a twenty-one day track | a three-week sequence for weaving the practices into a life you already have
- a field notes template | journal structure for tracking what shifts
- companion audio | me reading the explanation aloud plus guided audio for every practice, MP3 downloads

the two thousand year inheritance
it is worth naming how we got a model of the body as a reactive machine in the first place, because that model did not come from nowhere and it is not neutral.
aristotle argued that women were misbegotten males. literally, on the page.
plato argued that women were reincarnated men who had lived badly.
hippocrates and galen invented the theory of the wandering womb. the greek word for womb is hystera. that is where our word hysteria comes from.
descartes gave the medical establishment permission to treat the body as a machine to be commanded by the mind. women's felt reports were dismissed on the strength of that split for the entire nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
we did not include women in clinical trials at any real scale until the 1990s. women's symptoms are still, today, twice as likely to be labeled psychosomatic as men's are.
the model of your body you are working against was not delivered to you by neutral science. it was delivered by a two thousand year lineage that had specific interests in reading female bodies as objects to be managed rather than intelligences to be met.
the knowing body method is a specific act of reclamation. that is what we are doing together, in tissue, over time.
frequently asked
is this therapy?
no. this is a working kit for the patterns that are ready to update. it is not a substitute for a therapist, a doctor, or a longer container of care. if what you are carrying is acute trauma or crisis, this pdf is not the right first step. i will name it clearly inside every product.
do i need to buy them in order?
no. each product stands alone. buyers who read one often want the others.
how long does each product take to complete?
the explanation reads in about an hour. the twenty-one day track is designed to layer in over three weeks. the field notes practice continues as long as it is useful.
what if i already know the neuroscience?
the library goes deeper than most popular writing in the space, but the value is not primarily new information. it is the working practices calibrated to the mechanism, and the historical thread that reframes what you already know.
what if i am new to this?
the products are written so no prior vocabulary is required. every technical term is explained the first time it appears. start with the practice pack that names your pattern.
do you offer refunds?
for digital products, no. but the upgrade guarantee lets any practice pack purchase credit toward a library purchase, so you can start small.
